| By using a shorter gear like on a 10 speed bike. Your rasing the motors Rpm's without putting a greater load to transfer the motors power to the wheels. Like making it easier for the motor to rev through the lighter residence of a shorter gear, so the power is just not applied. Plus that shorter gear will take the car out of it's power range faster as I'm sure you may know. Giving it less time to stay within it's Rev limiter. If you where to stay in 3rd gear until the end of a 1/4 mile, your Top speed in 3rd gear with a Stg III 7200 Rpm would be 110mph. Thus maxing the gear and taking the car out of it's Max power range that we all know of on stock turbo's is 4500 to 5500rpm's. While 4th gear at a gear ratio of 1.000 will allow you to run speeds of 143mph and put a much greater load on the motor and still keep you in the cars Max power range. Thus same gear recommended for Dyno pulls. If the car was Stg II ( no ecu ) then 3rd gear would be a 107mph red line. Plus any other problems like the boost leaks you found didn't help any,, lol. Have you gotten to Dyno your car yet running solid?
